1911 INTRO COURSE

The 1911 pistol has been around for 100 years and is becoming more popular every day.  It is still used by many pistol “experts” and newer shooter fall in love with the shoot ability of it right away.   But, it’s an old school design and requires a little tender loving care to make it work right and last a long time.

Let our expert Instructors teach you how to properly and efficiently maintain your 1911.

WHAT WE COVER:
SAFETY FIRST.  Safety, proper basic cleaning and maintenance, class room dry fire training and a little time on the range shooting with an instructor to learn the safe and expert methods of using this wonderful pistol.

We’ll cover the best methods on how to preserve any metals, woods and polymers as well as what springs and other parts should be replaced at what times.

We will go over how to “field strip” your 1911, properly clean, inspect and reassemble.  Don’t wear your nice clothes- you will get your “hands on” the gun.

The 1911 is designed to be “Locked and Cocked” so we’ll show you how to do this safely and explain the safety systems in most 1911 pistols.  The dry fire exercises will cover SAFETY, loading, grip, stance and the basics of shooting a pistol.  On the range, we’ll fire about 50 rounds to help you become a better shooter.

This class is for the 1911 style pistol ONLY and we will not cover any other type of pistol.

DO NOT BRING ANY LIVE AMMO TO THE CLASS ROOM.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING:
Your own 1911 pistol (if you’re thinking of buying one, you may use one of our rental guns, but we only have a limited number).  Any cleaning supplies you already have, and any special tools required for disassembling your 1911.

We’ll cover what springs and other parts should be replaced at what times.

Rags, misc tools your gun may require (screw drivers etc for grips).
